The state of Indiana offers the GED exam for all qualified residents; here’s how you can avail of this prospect for self-fulfillment.

The Indiana GED exam basically tests your mettle in five subjects, each a component of the standard high school curriculum. Social Studies, Science, Math, and the Reading and Writing aspects of the Language Arts are prerequisites to a high school diploma, and in the exam you answer questions based on these subjects by picking it from several choices. There is also an essay section wherein you have to come up with your own in under forty-five minutes (Language Arts in Writing). You are given a maximum allotted period of seven hours to complete the entire exam.

The scoring system which is used for the exam is based on a 200 to 800 point scale, and in order for you to earn the credential, you have to meet three requirements: you need to obtain a score of 410 for each of the five sections, you need to earn a 450-point average for the entire test, and you must accumulate 2250 points as a total score. These are all minimum requirements, and you can surpass them as much as you can.

You are eligible to take the Indiana GED exam if you fulfill several requirements. First, you have to be seventeen years old at the time of registration; this prerequisite also necessitates that you provide proof that you underwent an exit interview from the school you withdrew from, and you obtain a passing mark on the accredited GED trial test. You are also required to be an Indiana resident for at least thirty days prior to the exam proper, and that you should not have obtained a diploma from an accredited secondary school in the United States.
