The General Education Development Certificate is equivalent to a valid secondary education diploma. Most employers as well as universities and colleges give higher credit and chances of earning a spot either for the company or the school with this certificate. There are seventeen local testing centers in New Hampshire that cater the GED test. Each testing centers have their own procedures for registration and testing schedule.
Call the GED testing office at (603) 271-6699 to find where these testing centers are located. The official GED test costs $65 at all New Hampshire testing centers. Each of these testing centers also gives practice tests but they may cost about $10 or $15. The retest fee is $15 per sub test. In order to turn in your application for the GED test you must register in person.

Some of the requirements in taking the New Hampshire GED are, the applicant needs to be a resident of New Hampshire and have a New Hampshire state-issued photo ID. The applicant also must be 18 years of age, but if the applicant is between the ages of 16-18, they may need a waiver from the GED administrator along with a signed parental consent. You can download the age waiver form from various websites, or go directly to the education department’s website.

The GED standard passing score is 410 on each test and a total score of 2250 is needed to pass. If the applicant fails to meet the standard score, there is no fixed waiting period for retesting a portion or all the subtests of the GED. Some states require a gap of 6 months to a year before you can take a retest, but not in the state of New Hampshire. However, there will be a charge of $15 per section of the GED.

Before taking the official test, you may take a practice exam in order to find out if you are most likely to pass the actual examination. The practice test will help you assess your skills, whether you need additional studying, or additional help. There are learning programs at your local GED test centers, or you may pick up study guides at your local bookstore, library, or adult learning centers. The New Hampshire GED consists of five tests: Language Arts, Writing; Language Arts, Reading; Science; Social Studies; and Mathematics. The entire test takes seven hours and 20 minutes to complete. Most of the questions are multiple choice. These five tests are intended to measure the most important academic skills and knowledge that a student in high school level should have accumulated over the years.
